Sacrolitiitis

sacroiliitis sacroiliac joint

WHAT IS SACROILIITIS?

Sacroiliitis is an inflammation of the sacroiliac joint. The sacroiliac joint is the joint that connects your spine to your pelvis. Sacroiliitis can occur in one, or both of these joints, and can result in extreme pain. In addition to pain right at the joint, many people experience pain throughout their buttock and low back and even down the back of their legs.

What is most difficult about sacroiliitis is that many activities can aggravate this condition, including prolonged standing, walking or climbing stairs. Since this condition comes from an inflammation issue, many times, injections are the most effective pain relievers when it comes to dealing with sacroiliitis.

Here at Genesis Pain and Regenerative Medicine, we know just how severe sacroiliitis can be. This joint is instrumental in many of our everyday movements and can have a drastic impact on your quality of life. However, with regular pain management, many people with sacroiliitis are finally able to get the relief that they need to regain their range of motion and get back to a pain-free life.
