WHAT IS SACROILIITIS?
Sacroiliitis is an inflammation of the sacroiliac joint. The sacroiliac joint is the joint that connects your spine to your pelvis. Sacroiliitis can occur in one, or both of these joints, and can result in extreme pain. In addition to pain right at the joint, many people experience pain throughout their buttock and low back and even down the back of their legs.
What is most difficult about sacroiliitis is that many activities can aggravate this condition, including prolonged standing, walking or climbing stairs. Since this condition comes from an inflammation issue, many times, injections are the most effective pain relievers when it comes to dealing with sacroiliitis.
